The Towers of Silence

once I had lots of pain inside. so I climbed a hill in Yazd called Towers of Silence. The Towers my ancestors used to elevate the dead by; to be putrefied by the water and the wind.

there I beheld horizons of countless crimson and purple dust. there the wind whirled my ears with the scents of the distant dead; whom were buried at my footsteps centuries behind. I wanted to weep no matter silent or loud. but the embrace of the Lord of Death was too close to let me out.

well I practically never left the Towers. as I left my heart there for centuries to come; as I’d no doubt what I witnessed was nothing but my very shattered crimson heart; at the horizons of countless centuries behind.
