Marcus Aurelius

Marcus Aurelius (121–180 CE) was Roman emperor from 161 to 180 and a major voice in the Stoic tradition. During military campaigns he wrote the private reflections now known as Meditations, examining duty, self-command, mortality, and the practice of meeting events with reason and integrity.
