Homer

Homer is the name traditionally given to the ancient Greek poet associated with the Iliad and the Odyssey, foundational epics of European literature. Almost nothing certain is known about the poet’s life or date, and scholars continue to debate how the poems emerged from oral tradition and whether a single author gave them their surviving form.
